HARMONIOUS PRINTS

Good Morning muffins,
Apologies to all who expected this post to go up yesterday. Remember how I said the attachment has me disoriented, well it's not done with me yet. I adapted to sleeping early so I would be able to wake up early too. So now I can't stay awake anytime past 11p.m. That was the case yesterday, I literally dozed off while uploading these pictures.
Anyway, today am focusing on prints. Prints are always a challenge to style. Most people stick to neutral colors as the base. Once in a while though it's okay to pair different prints and see how it goes.
I don't know how this match looks to you but for me it's perfect, lets just say my mind is satisfied with the outcome. We can also agree that floral prints are my absolute prints weakness, they are my favorite prints.
When pairing different prints you might want to keep your accessories as minimal as possible. This neck-piece am wearing has a pendant which I took off to keep it simple. I got the neck-piece a few months ago at the Curio Shop in Sarova Shaba (Samburu).....am obsessed with it.
The Kitenge Bandeau top was an after thought when fabric remained after I made this skirt.
What do you think about this combination, would you have done anything different?
When baring so much shoulder, a sun hat comes in handy.
It's all in the detail.
That's it for today loves.
Bandeau top - Custom made by Glory (0723608646)
Kshs 200 (fabric was mine)
Print pants - Gikomba Kshs 100
Black heels - Muthurwa Kshs 150
Sunhat - Toi Market Kshs 250
Neckpiece - Sarova Shaba Kshs 400
Have a great weekend ahead...hopefully the sun will shine bright so we can all rock some cute adorable outfits like crop tops over the weekend.
Much love,
Linet

DeleteYou wore these prints so well
ReplyDeleteYou so kind Ruth...pleasure having you here.
DeleteI love your use of colors and prints. You look great here. And you're right prints are definitely a challenge because i think people assume that if you have a pair of printed trousers or a printed top you have to wear a basic top or a basic bottom, which isn't true at all. But you know what's up. You did this perfectly. And thanks for checking out my blog!

In truth, prints are ever a challenge but that's the fun of it. While basic colors work every single time, its better to spice it up with prints on prints.
DeleteThanks for stopping by doll.
