HAPPY NEW MONTH : JULY
I had almost forgotten these pics from a few month ago when I rocked the Robe Trench, some plaid print pants and metallic tattoos.
Today I'll talk a little about thrifting.
In the past I've mentioned that I have one Jacket vendor from whom I get all my blazers, trench coats and generally any heavy cover-up. We discovered them like two years ago with Mum while walking home from grocery shopping. They sell their merchandise from the bonnet of an old abandoned pick-up...it's not the most attractive set-up.
What am trying to say is: when you heavily rely on thrifting for your clothes, you learn never to discriminate any setting. You also learn to have a quick eye that notices interesting things in the weirdest of places.
I love this trench to bits, its warm and weird...weird does it for me. When I bought it we were thrifting with my Mum and Sister. We couldn't figure out what it was and how to wear it....the challenge alone was enough to make me buy it, I know some of you ladies can relate with this habit.
All in all, it is one of my best buys in the jacket & trench coat department.
Little problem though : I did my research before posting this and I know the Robe Trench was trending much on the runways last year. However for some people they still see it as a robe. I wore it to the office last week and one colleague asked me why I was wearing a robe....I had no answer for her.
What do you think about this piece, does it really look like a robe you'd wear to bed?
Paired it with plaid pants, a black bralette , beige H&M wedges and a cute animal print clutch.....as always am obsessed with pairing different prints.
Steve has a thing for trash and bringing out the best in it. It's not something I liked at the beginning but I've learnt to see the beauty in these shots, hope you do too.

Aaaaaw, thank you for the nice comment Cara. Am glad you like the look.
DeleteI would totally wear it. It looks great and the pretty lining peeking out from under your sleeves, so cool. I love the trend. Never thought of trash for a background, it looks super cool. http://fashionablyidu.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteAm so glad you noticed the lining on the coat, it has the prettiest prints in silk.
DeleteTrash does form a beautiful background, but not so often.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Kisses
For me that's a jacket. A robe would be longer, so this has to be more like a jacket. Anyway it looks gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, hope to read you soon.
