HAPPY NEW MONTH!!

How have you been muffins? I hope you ushered in the new month in the most memorable manner.

It's unbelievable how fast this year has gone by.
Just the other day (May) I traveled to Samburu on yet another School trip (one of the few things I'll miss about college) which makes this post long overdue.

If you love travelling as much as I do, then you know that accommodation is a very important part of your journey. It has a direct impact on your overall satisfaction with the entire vacation or holiday. Therefore, it is important to find the most appropriate set-up to suit your needs. On the last travel post I featured three accommodation options in Masai Mara.
However, for Samburu we managed to visit only Sarova Shaba due to unavoidable circumstances.

For you to appreciate not just the tranquility but the role played by Shaba in the Kenyan wildlife history, you must read the story on the original owners (Joy & George Adamson) to this place and the contribution they made towards wildlife conservation. It is a story of Love, Conservation and Tragedy....very touching. Actually, Sarova Shaba is the only accommodation facility within the Shaba National Reserve.

Do have a great read with this post.
I'll resume to outfit posts soon.

Visit their website for more details.

What I love most about this place is the tranquility, ambiance and general serenity of the place. From this pic you can see how they have managed to keep the lawns well manicured and ensuring that there are enough trees to keep the environment clean and fresh.

There are several natural springs that provide water which mazes through the the property. As you walk by the restaurant to your room you are comforted by the soft sound made by the water as it flows through silently.

This is yet another highlight for me when it comes to Sarova Shaba. They can serve your meals across the river though you have to get there by boat. How cool is that?
I know many other hotels/lodges/tented camps in Kenya provide bush dinners especially those located in the wild.
However, this one is too unique for me....I have no idea why but I just love it. Maybe because the scenery is not your typical bush dinner view.

The rooms are structured in a slightly traditional way. It's not a tented camp though, so you get to be in a built room.

That's it for today loves. Look out for a travel outfit post soon.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Much love,

Linet
